Nursery starts their new unit
Caring for living things

We have begun a new unit about caring for living things.  Over this month and next, we will look at how we take care of babies, animals and plants.
We started with caring for babies and discovered that the children already know about their food, their nappies, their needing  milk and a lullaby to go to sleep.  Our role play corner has changed.
There is a kitchen now and lots of babies to care of....

Adding furniture and dolls to the house takes cooperation.

Language Arts
As we look at books about babies, the children draw what they looked like when they were infants and tell us what they remembered or what they know about babies.

Story time was enriched by Mr. Matthew reading again one of our favourites and with a special visit from a Mum who read a beatiful story.

During play, two children became the babies and talked to each other, changing their voices.

                                               Maths

Circle time is for counting again and again.  The number rock song goes all the way to 20.  We count how many boys, how many girls, how many in all and how many children are missing.

Threading numbers in the garden is all about recognizing numbers, hand-eye coordination. measuring
who made the longest necklace AND having fun!

Continue with some math fun along with your child as you look at....
