Fathers Day:

The children worked created beautiful gifts for their Daddy's, We hope you liked them! It was so nice to see so many Dad's come to have breakfast with the children.

Unit of Inquiry:

We bathed and dressed the babies, thinking about what babies need!

We need to be gentle!

The water needs to be warm, not too hot and not too cold!

Special Visitors!

We had a baby sister come and spend some time with us! We asked lots of questions and got lots of answers!

Does she eat food?
NO, she drinks milk from her Mommy!

Can she walk?
Not yet, BUT...She sat up for the first time all by herself!!

Her feet are teeny, tiny.. But she has 10 toes just like us! 1,2,3,4,5...

Ms. Jen brought her Turtles to Nursery. We are learning how to take care of animals too! We have been counting a lot these days!

An Invitation from the Friends of Ambrit

Friends of Ambrit would like to invite all parents to an exceptional and very special night of fun. This year our annual gala will be on the night on 10th June. It will take place at the gorgeous and exclusive Villa San Sebastiano on the Appia Antica, one of the most beautiful venues in Rome. The party starts at 7pm and goes 'til late. The proceeds will be put towards promoting excellence and creativity at the school, supporting educational projects to inspire and enthuse our children, details of which will follow. Ways To support your child's learning outside of the classroom: Ask your child to do the movements along with reciting the fingerplays

Finger plays recently learned in class: Recite along with your child.

Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick

So she phoned for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick.

The doctor came with his bag and his hat

And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat.

He looked at the dolly and he shook his head,

He said, "Miss Polly, put her straight to bed.'

He wrote on the paper for a pill, pill, pill

"I'll be back in the morning with the bill, bill, bill.

The beehive: First use one closed fist and then in the second verse, for double numbers, two closed fists.

Here is the beehive. Where are the bees?

Hiding away where no one can see.

WATCH and you will see them come out of the hive

1: While out in the country or the park talk with your child about the changes that are happening to the trees, leaves, plants, etc.. LOOK FOR SIGNS OF SPRING, small green shoots, blossoms, use your eyes and nose to explore.

2: Read to your child in your mother tongue. Find a quiet moment, maybe before bed to read a story together. Although your child may not be able to read the words, they surely can

' read' the pictures to you!

3: On your way to school count the cars you pass, or the stairs you need to use. These natural and simple ways of enriching numbers and counting, will make learning fun!

Please include photos and any decorations that you would like. These books will be shared with the other children but will also be going home, to learn about the difference and similar celebrations we all celebrate!

Fun things to do at home!

The children love to play with playdough here at school. Aside from being FUN to play with, playdough helps develop many different skills such as: fine motor development and creativity. Having a wide range materials to add to playdough leads to a wonderful open-ended play time together! You could have leaves, straws, animals, buttons, googly eyes, fabric or pasta shells on the table in individual containers, ready for those little hands to get busy.

Here is our favorite playdough recipe:

1/2 cup of salt

1 cup of flour

2 tbs cream of tartar

1 cup of water

1 tbs of oil

3-4 drops of food colouring of your choice

STEP 1: Mix all ingredients together in a medium saucepan

STEP 2: Stir over hear until dough forms a big ball

STEP 3: allow to cool

STEP 4: HAVE FUN!

STEP 5: Store in a sealed container or plastic bag
